Aviary Cabinet
May 2024The Aviary Cabinet evolved from a set of 50 sketches. The finalized hollow box-on-stand construction of Aviary was reminiscent of an antique birdcage, which steered the design into embracing bird motifs and inspired the name.
Aviary holds a special place in the designer’s heart as it was the last piece made in SCAD’s Gulfstream Furniture Studio, and represents a mastery of woodworking and attention to detail. Made from red oak, brass hardware, and Liberty poplin cotton fabric in Strawberry Thief pattern.
